Right Before My Eyes

So this is your warning - this post contains a lot of bragging on my part about my oldest child.  I'm allowed to do that you know.  She is my daughter.  I am so in love with this beautiful child it is crazy.  I am also in love with this picture of her and the way the light is hitting her face  To bad her fathers abdomen is in the background and we are in the Chick-fil-a parking lot.  She is in first grade now and will be 7 in roughly 6 weeks.   She has ideas, and opinions, and likes and dislikes that we have not impressed upon her.  She is madly in love with school and is doing so well.  It isn't even the middle of the first 9 weeks and she has already mastered all of the sight words for her first grade year.  Her teacher sent me an e-mail saying that she would love to make Addison over 20 times and she would have a fantastic classroom.  I'm sure in the politically correct world she probably shouldn't of done that but it was nice to hear.  She is eager to do her homework but just as eager to play and have a good time.  She is loving gymnastics and has done well with the new TOPS team she is on.  I can't wait to go to her first meet.  We are in birthday planning mode and she has decided that she wants to have a pottery painting party and invite girls only.  She has also asked to get her ears pierced for her birthday.  I am OK with it- Steve not so much.  She is so excited about the possibility of wearing earrings that she doesn't seemed to be concerned about the part where it hurts a little.  I still just can't believe that she is old enough to even be considering this. Well I guess I need to save some Addison information for her birthday post so I'll leave now with some more pictures from the first day of first grade.
