So apparently (to use my eldest daughters favorite phrase) I don't post enough for some in my viewing community. These two ladies - and you know who you are- seem to forget that I have two youngins' at home! These youngins' are wired to need a drink, snack, go potty, or fight just when I take a seat to fill up this space with our current news. I really do want to try and do better because when I get behind on pictures and post it makes it that much harder of a task and so I put it off and then the cycle continues. So since the last time we spoke we have had our annual family vacation. I can't express to you how important this week is to me and how much I enjoy it - craziness and all! I have such a love for my home state and something about being in Garden City and seeing the canal, and the pier, and the house where my high school group stayed just gives me a feeling inside that I can't explain. To me it is just beautiful there and it is for many more reasons than just the scenery. My family has been making this trip since before I was born and I have missed only 2 years. The year I got married and the year I was pregnant with Carsyn. I have been the young child who wanted nothing more than to play on the beach all day, the teenager out looking for a summer fling, the newlywed loving that my husband seemed to fit right in with the traditions, the miserable pregnant one, and now a Mom who loves nothing more than the fact that it has come full circle. My kids are playing on the very same beach, going to the very same arcade, and very same ice cream shop. But what I love the most is that maybe one day they will sit and type something very similar to this because they will also know how awesome it is to have memories like this. Highlights of this trip were being able to see my cousin Erika and her husband who are living in Utah, celebrating all the July birthdays, watching Addison play with her cousins, seeing how happy my grandfather was to go on a boat ride, staying up later than my husband with the young crowd, playing Bookworm with my Mom and aunt, redoing the grandkids pictures, watching my Mom chase Carsyn on the beach, seeing my brother and sister play with Addison in the ocean, and just not having anything to do expect take it easy. The biggest downer of the trip was the fact that my father was laid up in the bed with shingles. He was pretty miserable, however, it did make for some humorous moments. So I guess that sums it up. The pictures don't do the trip justice but maybe you can get the idea- we had a fantastic time!!!
