CarsynV1.5

This is the entire manual and guidebook to Carsyn version 1.5. It includes operating instructions, care instructions ,and some troubleshooting tips. This version weighs about 26 pounds. This is unchanged since October which shocks me because she can eat as much as a grown man. I guess she does burn the calories as fast as she consumes them. I am guessing she is around 33 inches but I won't know for sure until her next appt. in Feb.

As for putting this little one to sleep don't put her in her bed and expect for her to remain there. She has fallen out of her bed several times and now we think we know why

We have been putting her in the bed with us because we think at night she is standing up and falling out. I know, I know, we are planning on getting a full size mattress and just putting it on the floor.

This version of Carsyn talks up a storm. Some you can understand some you can't She says Daddy, duck, Addy, nana for banana, thank you, and something that sounds like love you. She has said turtle and strawberry once but we can't get her to repeat it. There are some words that she says over and over again

This version also comes complete with animal sounds. She started simple by copying Tillman when she would here him howl. Now when you ask her what a dog says she makes this same sound. It isn't exactly a howel but more like BRRRR, BRRRR, BRRRR. If you ask her what Santa says she'll say Ho, Ho, Ho but her favorite animal noise is what else but a Tiger

Sorry I haven't loaded the program to edit these video's so you also get to see my desperate attempts to get these things on video.

And now what does Santa say

Carsyn version 1.5 can point to hers and your body parts. She will poke you in the eye, pinch your nose, and stick her finger in your ear. She will also lift your shirt to find your belly button. This version can also wash her own hair

This one and a half version is also quite athletic- well as athletic as a one and a half year old can be. She pretty much runs now, climbs on anything including the neighbors coffee table , and likes to "jump".

When Carsyn V1.5 starts to bang her head on the floor don't worry she isn't malfunctioning she is just REALLY mad. Pick her up, give her her pink silk blanket , and maybe her pacifier and she should be OK. Beware though she does have a temper and has been known to hit, scratch, and bite. Something we are working hard on correcting. She is a bit more aggressive than Addison. Addison will be the last one in line for ice cream every time, Carsyn on the other hand may end up being the one knocking everyone down to be the first. Steve and I both are a little unsure on exactly how to handle these issues because Addison was always the one getting bitten or scratched. So far the firm "No" and a "time out" seem to be working.

Also available with the Carsyn V1.5 is the AddisonV5 . She comes complete with 3 missing teeth. Pictures to follow

Show Me Yo Muscles

Carsyn has really been crackin us up lately doing this. She started on Christmas Eve at the dinner table at my parents. We don't know what prompted it but we started calling it " Show me your muscles and now she does it almost on command. Also stay tuned for a special post on this little darling seeing as she will be one and a half tomm. I'm working hard on getting it together. Happy Sunday!

SNOW SNOW SNOW

We were told it was headed our way but being from the South I've learned not to hold my breath when it comes to winter weather. Well they were right this time. It wasn't a lot but it was the good kind, the soft powdery (is this a word?) kind. It wasn't great for making a snowman or really even snowballs but it was great for tasting and making snowangels. Just look at the pictures and see.

The End

Wow 2009 is over and I can't believe it! I really don't like the first few weeks of the new year. I love the Christmas season and for 3 weeks build it up all for it to be over in one day. I hate this! Not to mention having to get the house back in order, setting up and finding places for all the new Christmas presents, and getting back in a routine just make me feel blah! I also tend to get a little emotional about how fast time seems ot be going by- like yesterday folding clothes in the laundry room tears just welled up thinking about the fact that we just took down Carsyn's crib and the reality is it may never be put back up. After I composed myself I continued to purge toys and clothes something oddly enough I don't mind doing. I'll have to say I really won't miss 2009. It wasn't a horrible year and I know for many it was much worse than for me, but it still would not top the charts as an outstanding year. Steve has had to work a lot longer and harder to keep the company where it is which left me many nights as a one man team, we had to put Savannah down, Steve's grandmother passed away, and most recently my step grandmother passed away. Don't get me wrong 2009 was not without many blessings- my family , my health, and although I don't like it most of the time my job. So as I say goodbye to 2009 I look forward to what 2010 will be bring. My biggest New Years Resolution is to try to stick to the motto " Just do what you can- eventually it will all get taken care of." Of course I am referring to the long to do list I seem to keep and as I have mentioned before trying to control the urge to get it all done in one day and by myself. So here's to taking the time to chill out every now and then regardless of the piles of laundry in my bedroom floor or the clean sheets sitting on top of the bed or the many toys that seem to be all over the house.
As for Christmas it was wonderful even though it was a bit overwhelming. We went to church Christmas Eve and as always when the lights are turned off and the congregation sings Silent Night and holds up the candles I get choked up. It is so beautiful and really hits home the reason for the season. As soon as we got home Addison was eager to get to bed but I think it took her a while to fall asleep. Santa came to visit at Grammy and Gramps house and even dropped by at home while we were away. Addison got an American Girl Doll that she named, well, Addison. Carsyn got a Roller Coaster and a push car. Addison and Carsyn both love the roller coaster and Carsyn actually seems to enjoy most of Addison's new toys. It is so funny how she is right under her feet all the time. We left my parents and headed to Union to my Uncles house. We had a good time visiting with family that we don't get to see very often. Three of us have children that were born 3 months apart in 2008 and the last time they were all together was last Thanksgiving when they were 7, 4, and 1 month old. This year the 3 of them were walking and all over the place. After our visit at my uncles we headed to my grandparents for more gift exchanging and more food. (I totally let myself go the last two weeks and ate whatever and whenever- it was AWESOME). After an hour or so there my kids Carsyn mostly were starting to hit a wall. She was exhausted! We loaded up and before we even got out of the driveway both of the girls were asleep. We stayed at my parents until Sunday and it was so nice not to have to rush home. When we did get home Sunday we found what Santa left and then started to get ready for the week ahead. I told Steve next year I WILL be taking the week off b/n Christmas and New Years. It was awful going back to work Monday but at least I only had to work 3 days. Olivia and Brian came in to town New Years Eve and we toasted the New Year with sparkling Grape Juice in plastic champagne glasses- Addison thought this was the most wonderful thing. My parents came to town on Friday and Saturday the 4 of them headed to Birmingham for a very disappointing bowl game. We made them brownies as consolation prize. Now we are just working back into our routine and I am loving that I typed this whole post in bed on my new laptop while I watched TV- who knew how awesome technology could be. Enjoy the Christmas slide show and Happy 2010!
