Weekend in SC

Last weekend we went to visit my parents and celebrate John Thomas's Christening and April birthdays. On Saturday we took Addison to Irmo Park to take some pictures. The park was beautiful and she was in the mood to have her picture taken so I got some really good shots. On Sunday we went to Union. After church we went to my grandparents for lunch and play time on the farm my grandfather has created. He has two baby cows that will let you walk them on leash, goats, chickens, rabbits, a pony , and a donkey. He says that pigs are on the way. All of the kids love this. Later in the afternoon my grandfather rounded all the kids up to help plant the garden. They planted tomatoes, peppers, and potatoes. Addison loved it!! I can't wait for her to go back and pick the fruits of her labor. I am so thankful that she has a place where she can have such a hands on experience with these things. We have a pasture right behind our house but she isn't able to really get up close and learn about life on a farm.

High Maintenance

If you have ever seen a picture or met Addison you know that she is a girly girl. She loves any kind of jewelry, make up, nail polish , dress up clothes, and high heel shoes. Since she was about 18 months old she would put rings on her fingers and walk around with her hands balled up in fist so the rings wouldn't fall off. She has two jewelry boxes that are already overflowing and would love it if I would let her wear my wedding rings. Early on I had to put my makeup under lock and key because it was disappearing little by little. Like most people I know I am at Wal-mart at least once a week and for a year now she has begged me to have her nails done. I guess the nail salon there is more appealing than the one I have been setting up at our kitchen counter. I finally broke down about two weeks ago and let her get her toes and fingernails painted. She insisted on the royal blue for her toes and wanted a "gasign". You can't really tell but they painted a butterfly on her big toes. She was so proud of her newly polished finger and toes that she made me take pictures. I love that she is this way, but I do feel sorry for her husband. He will have one high maintenance wife.

I finally did it!!!

My friend Kerri has been trying to get me to start a blog forever. She will be so proud of me for finally getting one together. I am not very computer savvy so it took me a little bit of time to figure this out. Now I am excited about posting pictures and putting music on the site. I have really enjoyed going to everyone's blog and reading post and looking at pictures. This is going to be so much fun!!
